The Callisto Protocol is here at last. The long-awaited sci-fi survival horror debut from Striking Distance Studios and published by Krafton, has officially launched on December 2, 2022, for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. With its arrival comes the first critic reviews for the game, which many gamers use to make purchasing decisions. Fans have waited with bated breath, wondering how the new IP from Dead Space co-creator Glen Schofield would stack up against the title that The Callisto Protocol’s director is synonymous with. Here is The Callisto Protocol’s Metacritic Score for each platform and how it compares to the three entries in the Dead Space franchise.
The Callisto Protocol Metacritic Score
While there is still some potential for increasing or decreasing since the game just launched, as of this writing, The Callisto Protocol holds the following Metascores: 80 on PC, 76 on PS5, and 73 on Xbox Series X|S. Currently, there are no Metacritic reviews for the last-gen PS4 or Xbox One versions.
It may come as a surprise that the PC version of The Callisto Protocol is currently the most well-received, as many reviewers and gamers giving their first impressions of Striking Distance’s debut have noted a litany of performance issues and bugs that have hindered their enjoyment on PC. Also, others have argued that the PlayStation 5 has the best hardware to experience the game. It appears (for the time being) that Metacritic has dispelled this notion.
