How to Enable/Disable Motion Controls

Motion Controls are a thing to get used to, and many players might find themselves struggling to deal with Super Mario Odyssey’s Motion Controls at first. While you can get better at using them as you play the game more, turning them off can make it easier for new players to get used to the console.

To turn off Motion Controls, and disable them, you’ll need to go into the Super Mario Odyssey settings and look for the option marked “Use Motion Controls”. You can then choose whether you want to turn them off, or turn them on. You can also change the camera’s sensitivity. If you don’t want to turn Motion Controls off, then try setting it to Low, as this will make it less jumpy when you move around.

The big kicker with this is that turning Motion Controls off in the settings will only disable it for the camera, it won’t disable it for the hat throwing, which means you’ll still need to deal with the Motion Controls when dealing with Cappy’s attacks.

Unfortunately, right now, there isn’t any way to turn the Motion Controls off completely, so you’ll just have to get used to them. As we stated above, though, turning the sensitivity down to low can definitely help, and while it may seem like you’ll never get used to them, we assure you that over time it will become easier to use, and you might just grow to love them.
