Subnautica 2 Pre-Order

You can now pre-order Subnautica 2 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store.

There is no launch discount at the moment, but I can confirm that regional pricing is applied on both digital storefronts. Its base price is $30.

On Steam, you can get a discount on the entire series by purchasing the Subnautica Deep Ocean Bundle, which includes Subnautica, Subnautica: Below Zero, and Subnautica 2.

Currently, pre-orders aren’t active on Xbox platforms just yet, but the developers have confirmed on Discord that they’ll share more information shortly.

Subnautica 2 Preload and Download Size

On Steam, you can now preload Subnautica 2, and its preload download size is 12.9 GB while the full size is 14.56 GB, which isn’t much at all.

This gives you a full 72 hours to download the title on your PC and be ready for when the title is officially out.

Subnautica 2 Early Access Release Date

Subnautica 2 is launching on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and Xbox Series S|X on May 14, 2026. You can check when it’s launching exactly in your region using our handy countdown timer.

The early access launch is only the beginning for the title, and the developers expect the full release to come out 2 to 3 years later. The current build includes a multiplayer mode, multiple biomes, some of the main narrative, and a variety of creatures and craftables. Pricing will also see an increase once the title is out of early access, which will have more biomes to explore, the complete narrative, and even more creatures to find and study.

All things considered, the preload size is fairly small, and Unknown Worlds Entertainment has given plenty of time to make sure you’re ready for launch.
