Slaying zombies in State of Decay 2 is not only a strenuous task for survivors, it takes a toll on your weaponry as well. Unless you want to go around punching zombies to death, you will need to maintain the durability of your weapons to ensure they don’t break. For this guide, we’ll explain how to fix and repair weapons in State of Decay 2 so that your weapons are always in tip-top shape.
How to Repair Weapons in State of Decay 2
In State of Decay 2, each weapon has a certain durability threshold, which is indicated by the Max Durability stat in the Inventory. The grey bar essentially represents how long your weapon will last before it breaks. As you use a weapon, its durability will decrease.
The durability of a weapon is also indicated by color. When the weapon turns yellow in your Inventory, it means it is somewhat worn or damaged. When a weapon turns red, it means the weapon is broken and needs to be repaired. You don’t want to let it get to this point. It’s important to keep your primary weapons in good condition so that they’re ready to go when you need them during combat.
In order to repair weapons in State of Decay 2, you will need to build a Workshop at your home base. If you don’t have space to build a new facility, then make sure you know where to claim a new base in your region so that you have room for additional facilities. Building a Workshop requires three building materials and one person. To build a Workshop, interact with a vacant space within your base and select the Workshop icon from the Build Facility menu.
Once the Workshop is constructed, you can come here to repair any damaged weapons you may have, provided you have the resources to do so. Fixing and repairing weapons will require you to spend a portion of salvaged resources, which varies depending on the weapon’s durability and how worn down it is.
When you bring up the menu to repair a weapon in the Workshop, a prompt will appear that shows the amount of resources required to fix the weapon, as well as the amount of salvage you have currently in the Supply Locker. Be sure to maintain a steady supply of salvage in case you need to repair weapons in State of Decay 2.
