Building your late grandfather’s farm back from the brink of ruin is a tough job in Stardew Valley, and if you want to make it, you’re going to have to know what you’re getting into. In this article, we’ll show you how to make Truffle Oil in Stardew Valley, a special Artisan Good which can be crafted, then sold or used as a cooking ingredient.

How to Get Truffles

Every great thing begins with a first step, and before you can get Truffle Oil, you’re going to have to get Truffles. Truffles aren’t all that hard to find, though. To start finding Truffles you will need to purchase a pig. But, before you can get a pig you must first purchase the Deluxe Barn upgrade. Then, wait for the pig to mature 10 days. Once the pig has matured, it can be let outside where it will dig up Truffles for you to use.

You’re not quite there yet, though. Before you can make Truffle Oil you will need to build an Oil Maker, which requires you to reach Farming Level 8. So, if you haven’t reached Level 8 yet, get to farming. Once you reach Farming Level 8, it is time to build yourself an Oil Maker.

To build an Oil Maker you will need 50 Slime, 20 Hardwood, and 1 Gold Bar. Once it is made, it’s time to start making Truffle Oil

How to Make Truffle Oil

To make Truffle Oil, take the Truffles that your friendly pigs find and interact with the Oil Maker. This will bring up the crafting window, which lets you choose the item that you want to craft. Select the Truffle Oil, and then press enter to get started. Turning Truffles to Truffle Oil takes time, though. In fact, it will take around five or six hours for the process to complete. Because of this, you should either start it up right in the morning, so it can finish during the day, or start it up at night, before you call it quits for the evening.

Making Truffle Oil can be extremely useful for cooks, and equally as good for aspiring merchants. While each Truffle you find can be sold for a base price of 625 Gold, Truffle Oil can be sold for a base price of 1065 Gold, making it almost twice as profitable as regular Truffles. No matter what you’re trying to do with Truffle Oil, it’s an extremely useful item to know how to make.

That’s all you need to know to get started making Truffle Oil. Things don’t happen overnight, so be patient, build up your Farming Level, and then get your pigs to searching for Truffles. We’d suggest getting started on your Truffle Oil farm as quickly as possible, that way you can start raking in some serious cash along the way. This will allow you find out how to get married in Stardew Valley, and even help you upgrade your farm even more.
