Star Wars Battlefront – How to Win Cargo

Check out the best ways to win in Star Wars Battlefront’s variation of CTF.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

The Cargo multiplayer mode in Star Wars Battlefront is essentially what you think of Capture the Flag in other shooters. The main objective is to take cargo from the opposing team and bring it back to your cargo holding area. When you have a total of 10 pieces of cargo in your base, you win the match.

Objectives:

  • Invade the enemy base and take their cargo.
  • Bring the cargo back to your base.
  • Secure 10 total pieces of cargo in your base to win the match.

In this mode, you’ll be attaining cargo from the enemy while keeping your own cargo loads safe. The goal is to end up with the most cargo in a match, but just remember that the tide can turn if enemies start stealing yours in return. You must employ a smart defensive strategy if you want to win this one.

Make sure you use run-and-gun to your advantage in this mode, as you can easily take down soldiers while swiping their cargo, then hustle as you bring it back to base. Try to stick to the outside perimeter when you’re doing this, as that will be the quickest route to getting into their cargo hold. More often than not a bulk of the action between the bases will take place in the middle of the battlefield. Sweeping around the perimeter can help you avoid most of the action until you reach the opposing team’s base.

It’s important keep a strong defense on your cargo. Find a good spot where you know enemies will travel (like the outside perimeter mentioned previously), and make sure you coordinate with your team on incoming waves so that you can keep your cargo safe. Don’t go at it alone, have a buddy along with you to back you up. If you like to camp, don’t stay in just one spot. It’s best to rotate between multiple camping points so you don’t get tagged from behind and to prevent the opposing team from easily knowing your location.

While using a Jump Pack to get to the opposing team’s base can be beneficial, when carrying cargo remember that you cannot use a Jump Pack. You’re forced to stick to the ground, so keep your weapon at the ready in case the enemy tries to launch an assault. Once again, having a partner with you can be extremely beneficial. It’s also a good strategy to have your partner use a Jump Pack to help defend as you run back to your base with the enemy cargo.

There’s a set amount of cargo on the battlefield, which means that you’re going to have to steal from the opposing team’s base if you want to win. Likewise, if the opposing team is going to win, they’ll have to steal cargo from your base. If you mount a strong defense, it will be very difficult for the opposing team to score a win. If time expires, the team with the most cargo wins the match.
