Skate Story is out now on PC and consoles, and it’s one of the best releases of the year. It looks great on PC and is the best version to play, delivering excellent performance and visuals on a wide variety of hardware, and comes with support for several Steam features.
If you’re looking for your local progress, though, here is the save file location for Skate Story on PC.
Skate Story Save File Location
| Client | Save File Location |
|---|---|
| Steam | C:\Users\[Windows Username]\AppData\LocalLow\by Sam Eng\SKATE STORY |
In the SKATE STORY folder, you will find several log files and the save file itself (skatestory_savedata0.sav). To make things easier, if you are backing this up or moving these files, simply back up the entire SKATE STORY folder for future use.
You can access the same location using the shortcut address if you enter it into Windows Run or Explorer:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\by Sam Eng\SKATE STORY
Like other Unity titles, the client won’t change where the save files are stored locally. When Skate Story releases on GOG, the save files should be in the same location.
Does Skate Story Have Multiple Save Slots?
No, you can only have one active save profile in Skate Story. If you select “New Game” in the main menu, your existing data will be deleted after confirming the prompt, and you will start from scratch.

You can also delete the user data by going into settings and selecting “Delete Save Data“.

Skate Story Steam Features
On Steam, Skate Story has support for several features:
- Steam Cloud: Your progress is automatically backed up to Steam’s servers when you close the game. If you’re playing on multiple devices, progress will be downloaded automatically.
- Steam Family Sharing: If you own a copy of Skate Story, members of your Steam family can access it in their libraries.
- Steam Input: While the game has native support for multiple controllers, you can always use Steam Input to get third-party controllers to work without much trouble.
Skate Story is also verified for the Steam Deck and runs quite well on the handheld hardware.

I hope that the developer considers adding save slots so you can have multiple playthroughs running if you want.
