GTA V was released about a decade ago (depending on which platform we’re talking about), but it still retains a significant number of players. Should you play GTA Online in 2024? The opinions differ, so let’s see the pros and cons.
Is it Worth it to Play GTA Online on Consoles (PlayStation and Xbox) in 2024?
Given that the price for GTA Online is pretty low at this moment and that there is quite a lot of content to enjoy, I’d say it’s definitely worth it to give it a shot, even if you haven’t played GTA Online before. Rockstar has been adding regular updates throughout the past decade. GTA Online offers you various ways to have fun, whether you just want to mess around in the open world, race around the town, engage in PvP, or actually do the missions and heists Rockstar made for you. Los Santos is your oyster.
The downsides of playing GTA Online on consoles in 2024 are as follows:
- Some parts of the community are toxic and might actually grief you. That’s why solo players might not particularly enjoy GTA Online in 2024. However, if you join together with a few friends, that issue should not exist. In fact, you can potentially have the time of your gaming lives!
- There is a lot of grinding to be done. Like in real life, money doesn’t grow on trees in Los Santos (bad climate conditions), and some players might not be pretty fond of doing the same missions repeatedly.
Is it Worth it to Play GTA Online on PC in 2024?
As someone who has been a PC Gamer since 2000, with deep regret, I must advise you to consider your wish to play GTA Online in 2024 carefully. The problem I am pointing out is common to many other popular online PC games nowadays, which can demoralize many PC gamers. Some will call them hackers, some will call them modders, but we will call them cheaters. Chances are pretty decent that you will encounter cheaters in GTA Online on PC, which can be pretty detrimental to your experience.
Will GTA Online Have Players After The Release of GTA 6?
You bet! As long as Rockstar decides to keep the servers up (we live in a GaaS society), players will be playing it. For example, some communities still cherish, play, and update the unofficial GTA: San Andreas multiplayer mod called SAMP (San Andreas Multiplayer) in 2024. Therefore, I do not see a reason why this won’t be the case with GTA Online after GTA 6 releases. There is also the factor that some players will not be able to afford a PC/console that will be able to run it.
