Alan Wake 2 Graphics Options: Which Should You Pick?

No matter which way you play, you’re in for a treat. If you’re hoping to showcase the true power of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, you’ll want to jump into this fright festival while playing with the Graphics option. Sure, you may be limited to 30 FPS, but even the high-octane battles you’ll be partaking in will look absolutely stunning on your screen. You’ll have a targeted 4K resolution, and things will look the best they can here.

However, if you want to jump into Alan Wake 2 like it’s the newest twitchy shooter on the market, you’re going to prefer playing in Performance mode. This will aim for a targeted 60FPS, making the action on the screen appear much smoother at the cost of some of the fancier graphics tech. Targeting 1440p, you’ll still have an excellent on-screen image alongside a near-consistent frame rate.

One thing to note, however, is if you’re playing on Xbox Series S. You won’t have the option to toggle between the two different modes; you’ll only have the option to jump into this world playing at 30FPS with a targeted 1440p resolution.

No matter which option you choose, you’re in for a terrifying ride through The Dark Place and every other location you encounter on the journey. Personally, I’ll be doing my playthrough in the 30FPS Graphics mode so I can see what my consoles are capable of, setting a benchmark for graphics for the foreseeable future.
