The answer is yes, Chansey can be shiny in Pokemon GO.

In fact, there’s been a shiny variant of Chansey in the game since Chansey joined the game in February of 2020. And while the Community Day event will substantially improve your chances of getting Chansey, there are other ways to improve your chances.

How to Farm Chansey in Pokemon GO

Farming in Pokemon GO isn’t as easy as it is in the mainline games, but you can increase the odds of encountering this Egg-Pokemon.

• Be aware of Raids. Chansey can appear in 4-Star raids, including during the Community Day.
• Hatch Eggs. Eggs are the easiest way to farm Chanseys. Happiny’s have a chance to hatch from 2KM eggs. And just like Chansey, Happiny can be shiny, too.
• Hunt in Desert and City biomes. There’s some debate as to whether Chansey is most likely to spawn. But the best results seem to be from cities and deserts.

Ultimately, Chansey is a pretty rare Pokemon. So pull out all the stops with the Daily Incense and keep your eyes peeled for anything pastel pink or green and distinctly egg-shaped.
