No matter how many Perfect Starts, Perfect Entries, or Perfect Exits you get, the key to winning in Race Kings is all about how much Edge you have. It doesn’t matter if you’re perfect at everything, if your opponent has more Edge, they’re going to stay ahead of you, and pull out the win—unless they’re just really bad at drifting. In this article we’ll share some helpful tricks on how to win in Race Kings, to get you in the winner’s circle, and even talk about how you can increase your Edge in Race Kings.
Have the Most Edge
Every race that you undergo in Race Kings is against other players, and if you want to stay on top, you’re going to need to make sure you have the most Edge in a race. This singular stat basically determines who the winner of the race will be, unless your opponent (or you) just aren’t that good at entering and exiting turns. Unless your Edge is better than your opponent, you really don’t have much of a chance at victory.
The problem here, though, is that you can’t see your opponent’s Edge rating until after the race. This means you’ll want to try to upgrade your Edge as much as possible between races, to ensure you aren’t going against anyone that has a higher Edge than you.
How to Increase Edge
Edge can only be increased one way, by upgrading your vehicle. To upgrade your vehicle, simply look for the upgrade option above the RACE button on the main menu. Something to keep in mind here, though, is that you should always, ALWAYS, be aware of what your Edge rating is. See, when the track in your current league rotates, your Edge is lost, which means it resets it to zero. Your upgrades stay in place, though, so you’ll have to keep upgrading more and more to keep it.
While we did mention above that it is important to upgrade often, you should also be wary of how you upgrade your car. You want to leave plenty of upgrades on the table for when you need them, so don’t simply waste all your cash in one sitting. You can change which item you want to upgrade by clicking on the different icons in the upgrade area. Try to keep things on the same level, as this will make sure your power, weight, and other stats are evened out as you upgrade.
