Where to Find Max Mushrooms in Pokemon Sword and Shield: Isle of Armor

The first time that players will need to find Max Mushrooms in Sword and Shield will be during one of the Mustard trials. Thankfully, the location of the Max Mushrooms will be marked on your map, so they won’t be hard to find. However, for clarity sake, you’ll want to head to the Warm-Up Tunnel in the southern portion of the new Isle of Armor area. Once you have the shrooms, head back to the Dojo, win the fight, and then you’ll learn how to make Max Soup.

While you don’t have to use Max Soup if you don’t want to, doing so will turn your Dynamax Pokemon into Gigantimax. However, to make the soup, you’ll have to track down a special ingredient, Max Mushrooms, and this time around they won’t be as easy to locate.

Unfortunately, after the trials, Max Mushrooms will spawn randomly on the map and you’ll have to run around and hunt them down. Luckily, you should already know that the mushrooms are pink, so you can keep an eye out for them while you’re exploring different locations. If you’re having trouble finding them, some players say that you can increase the spawn rate of Max Mushrooms by completing Max Raid Battles with Dynamax Pokemon. Once you have done a couple of those, a new Max Mushroom should spawn, but you’ll have to explore around to find it.

The Isle of Armor DLC is the first of two planned for this year, with the Crown Tundra DLC set to release in late 2020. The Isle of Armor expansion brought a new level scaling system to the game, which increases the difficulty of other Pokemon based on the highest level Pokemon in your party. The DLC also introduced the Cram-O-Matic, which allows players to exchange four unwanted items for a mystery reward.
