Pokemon GO Catching Wonders Event

Event Date and Time

The Pokemon GO Catching Wonders event will last from Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00 AM to Sunday, May 19 at 8:00 PM (local time).

Masterwork Research and Master Ball

The biggest draw of this event is the free Masterwork Research that comes along with it. The Masterwork Research’s rewards will include:

• Stardust,
• XP,
• Berries,
• Encounters with Pokemon,
• and a Master Ball.

There will be other rewards in addition to those listed above, but the star of the show is the Master Ball. Log in to Pokemon GO during the event to activate this Masterwork Research. Once it’s activated, it won’t expire, so you don’t need to rush to complete it.

Event Bonuses

The following bonuses will be in effect during the Catching Wonders event time frame:

• You will get 10x the XP for your first catch of the day.
• You will get 10x the XP for your first PokeStop or Gym spin of the day.
• You will get 5x the Stardust for your first catch of the day.

Field Research Tasks and Rewards

Event-themed Field Research will be available from spinning PokeStops during the event. The rewards for completing the event Field Research tasks will include:

• Stardust,
• XP,
• Poke Balls,
• Great Balls,
• and Ultra Balls.

This will mark the third time the Master Ball is available to obtain in Pokemon GO. The last time was through an intense Timed Research that lasted the entire season. Players who didn’t complete it had the option to purchase a Master Ball Special Research for US$7.99. The Catching Wonders Masterwork Research tasks will likely take much longer to complete than Special Research like Glitz and Glam, but it’s worth activating the Masterwork Research anyway so you know you can get that Master Ball eventually.
