Pokemon GO Festival of Lights All Event Details

The Pokemon GO Festival of Lights event is back for 2023, bringing another new Pokemon from Paldea. It is rather interesting that this trend is being continued as opposed to continuing to release Pokemon from prior generations. Nevertheless, it’s an exciting inclusion on top of many other fun elements the event has in store for players.

Event Date and Time

The Pokemon GO Festival of Lights event will begin on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and end on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This provides trainers with five days to make the most of the event.

Debut Pokemon

The new Paldean Pokemon debuting during the Festival of Lights event is Tadbulb, alongside its evolution, Bellibolt. Don’t be fooled by their amphibious appearance, as both Tadbulb and Bellibolt are pure Electric-type Pokemon.

Tip:

Tadbulb may evolve via Thunder Stone in the mainline games, but in Pokemon GO all you will need for the evolution is 50 Tadbulb Candy.

Wild Pokemon Encounters

Trainers will encounter the following wild Pokemon for the duration of the event. The chosen Pokemon are all Electric and Fire-type Pokemon. This makes sense as electricity and fire are great at lighting up a room.

Event Bonuses

The following event bonuses will be active for the duration of the event.

  • Trainers will receive 2X Stardust when hatching a Pokemon from an Egg.
  • Trainers will receive 2X Candy when hatching a Pokemon from an Egg.
  • Incense that is activated during the event period will last for double the usual duration.

Event Timed Research

At no cost, trainers can participate in event-exclusive timed research that will be accessible for the duration of the event. The focus of the timed research will be on both catching wild Pokemon and exploring. Trainers who participate and complete the timed research will be rewarded with an event-exclusive shirt for their in-game avatar, as well as event-specific Pokemon encounters.

New Avatar Item to Celebrate the Event

There will be a new avatar item for trainers who wish to look the part! The new shirt will be available to be purchased once the event goes live, and trainers will be able to continue to purchase it after the event has ended.

PokeStop Showcases

As usual, trainers can expect PokeStops in their area to host event-specific PokeStop Showcases. This time, trainers can enter their best Litwick and Tadbulb into the PokeStop Showcase.

Event Bonuses Exclusive to India

The following bonuses are exclusive to Pokemon GO players residing in India.

  • Exclusive Collection Challenge with Stardust, XP, and a Tadbulb encounter as rewards
  • Trainers in India will receive 2X Candy when catching Pokemon during the event.

Trainers can expect to enjoy the Festival of Lights event in Pokemon GO. With many Pokemon to find and an upcoming Raid Day that will take place during the event on November 11, 2023, there is much to do to become the very best.
