To celebrate Día de Muertos in 2023, Pokémon GO is hosting a short but special event. The event will bring new and returning costumed Pokémon, special event bonuses, increases to Incense and Lure Modules, and more. Below are all the details of what to expect during Pokémon GO’s 2023 Día de Muertos event.
Pokémon GO Día de Muertos 2023 Event Date and Time
The Pokémon GO Día de Muertos 2023 event takes place from Wednesday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, November 2 at 8:00 p.m. local time. This gives players one day and ten hours to try to take advantage of the festivities, including finding new and returning costumed Pokémon, increased Incense and Lure times, and special raids.
Debut Costumed Pokémon
Both Cubone and Marowak wearing a cempasúchil crown will make their debut during the Pokémon GO Día de Muertos 2023 event. Cubone can be found through various different means, while players have to evolve it in order to have a cempasúchil crowned Marowak.

Although Duskull’s evolutions can’t be found to capture directly during the event, players can still evolve their Duskull wearing a cempasúchil crown into a Dusclops wearing a cempasúchil crown by using 25 Duskull Candy. They can then use 100 Duskull Candy and one Sinnoh Stone to evolve their Dusclops wearing a cempasúchil crown into a Dusknoir wearing a cempasúchil crown.

Increased Incense and Lure Encounter Pokémon

Event Bonuses
The following are the special bonuses that will be in effect during the Pokémon GO Día de Muertos 2023 event:
- Lure Modules that are activated during the event will last for 90 minutes instead of the usual 30 minutes.
- Incense activated during the event will last for 90 minutes instead of the usual 60 minutes (not including Daily Adventure Incense).
- Double (2x) the Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Additional bonus for Trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean: Additional Candy for transferring Pokémon.
PokéStop Showcases
During the Día de Muertos event for 2023, players can find various PokéStops with Showcases where they can enter the Pokémon Duskull.

The Día de Muertos-themed avatar items are returning from the 2022 Pokémon GO event. They include a Día de Muertos Face Paint and Día de Muertos Shirt. Both will be available from the in-game store after the 2023 event ends.

New Stickers
New stickers will be available during the Día de Muertos 2023 event. There will be one sticker for each Team insignia, and a sticker featuring a stylized PokéStop, Candy, Incense, and Lure Module. All stickers feature stylized patterns and flower petals.
Players can get these stickers:
- Randomly by spinning PokéStops,
- Randomly from opening Gifts,
- And by purchasing specific stickers from the in-game shop.
