Pokemon GO Bug Out Event – Start Date, Shiny Dwebble, Pinsir, and More

The Pokemon GO Bug Out event will kick off on Friday, June 26 at 8 AM local time and will run until 10 PM location time on July 2. As we mentioned above, the Bug Out event will see the debut of the Shiny Dwebble and will allow players to participate in a special one-day Pinsir Raid Day. Further, players will have an increased shot at catching Bug-type Pokemon, like Scyther, Venipede, Dwebble, and more, during the entirety of the event.

Bug-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild during the above dates and have a chance at being hatched from 5km Eggs earned during the Bug Out event. Further, players who complete event-exclusive Field Research tasks can earn a variety of Bug-type Pokemon as rewards for completing different tasks. Oh, it’s also worth noting that during the event, players will earn double XP for every catch.

The Pokemon GO Bug Out event will also cause Bug-type Pokemon to be more attracted to Incense, and will even have a better chance of appearing on specific days. Thankfully, Niantic has given players a schedule so they’ll know when they have an increased shot at catching different creatures with Incense.

  • June 26 (8 AM) – June 28 (11:59 PM): Nincada will be more attracted to Incense
  • June 28 (12 AM) – June 29 (11:59 PM): Wurmple will be more attracted to Incense
  • June 30 (12 AM) – July 1 (10 PM): Scyther will be more attracted to Incense
