Pokemon GO May 2024 Spotlight Hours

When are Spotlight Hours?

In general, Spotlight Hours take place in Pokemon GO every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time). Even if you forget the featured Pokemon and bonuses, if you remember to check Pokemon GO sometime between 6:00 and 7:00 PM on Tuesdays, you’ll be able to catch some of the Spotlight Hour.

Spotlight Hour: May 7, 2024

Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time)

Featured Pokemon

The featured Pokemon during May 7’s Spotlight Hour are Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan. Both of these Pokemon can be found in their shiny coloration.

These Pokemon are both fully evolved, but their pre-evolution Tyrogue uses 25 Tyrogue Candy to evolve into either Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop randomly.

Spotlight Bonus

During this Spotlight Hour, you will receive double (2x) the Transfer Candy. This bonus applies to any and all Pokemon you transfer during this hour, so if you’ve been meaning to clear out your Pokemon storage, this would be the perfect time to do so.

Spotlight Hour: May 14, 2024

Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time)

Featured Pokemon

May 14’s Spotlight Hour features Abra, which can be found as a shiny Pokemon in the wild.

Abra evolves into Kadabra with 25 Abra Candy, then again into Alakazam either by trading it to someone or by using 100 Abra Candy. In total, you’ll need 125 Abra Candy to evolve an Abra all the way into Alakazam. This Spotlight Hour is a good opportunity to use Pinap Berries on wild Abra to stock up on Candy.

Spotlight Bonus

The active bonus during the May 14 Spotlight Hour is double (2x) Evolution XP. Again, this applies to all evolution, not just evolving Abra. If you’re still making your way through the Glitz and Glam Special Research, you could save the “Evolve 5 Pokemon” task in the fifth (5/6) set for this Spotlight Hour to get the most XP possible.

Spotlight Hour: May 21, 2024

Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time)

Featured Pokemon

On May 21, the Spotlight Hour’s featured Pokemon is Elgyem. Elgyem’s shiny coloration is available in Pokemon GO.

Elgyem evolves into Beheeyem with 50 Elgyem Candy.

Spotlight Bonus

The May 21 Spotlight Hour’s special bonus is double (2x) the catch Stardust. Like the other Spotlight Bonuses, this applies to all captured Pokemon, not just the featured Pokemon Elgyem.

Spotlight Hour: May 28, 2024

Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time)

Featured Pokemon

May 28’s featured Pokemon during the Spotlight Hour is Mareanie. Unfortunately, Mareanie is the only Pokemon among May’s Spotlight Hours that is not available in its shiny coloration.

To evolve Mareanie into Toxapex, you need 50 Mareanie Candy.

Spotlight Bonus

The event bonus during May 28’s Spotlight Hour is double (2x) the Catch XP. As always, even if you catch a Pokemon that isn’t Mareanie, the bonus will still apply.
