The current official release date for Persona 5 Tactica is November 17, 2023. Furthermore, the strategy title aims to launch simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Is Persona 5 Tactica Coming to Xbox Game Pass?

If the premise or gameplay of Persona 5 Tactica doesn’t strike your fancy, you could try the game out on Xbox Game Pass if subscribed to the service. Users will be able to download the base version of Persona 5 Tactica on November 17, so unfortunately, you will miss out on the pre-order bonus personas if you go this route.

Do You Need to Play Persona 5 Before Persona 5 Tactica?

Newcomers and veterans can jump into Persona 5 Tactica without past knowledge. As usual for spin-off Persona games, developer Atlus will clue players in on who’s who and won’t spoil crucial story moments from the mainline title.

Unlike others, Persona 5 Tactica is also a bit unique. According to an Atlus blog via Xbox Wire, the spin-off is “like a theatrical version” of the Persona 5 timeline and is “not a canon new story” to the series. However, if you want to know why fans love the franchise and have the time, you could pick up Persona 5 Royal before jumping into Tactica to understand the characters and references Atlus will likely throw in.
