OSRS: How to Find the Stale Baguette in Old School RuneScape

Get that bread!

If you’ve ever bitten down on some stale bread, you know that it is often as hard as a rock. This makes it the perfect weapon to swing around in OSRS, whilst having a bit of a laugh. But obtaining one yourself isn’t straightforward and requires a little luck. Here’s how to find the Stale Baguette in Old School RuneScape.

If you’re seeking a Stale Baguette, you’ll have to cross your fingers that you become an unwitting participant in the correct random event. Two random events in OSRS have the potential to reward players with a Stale Baguette.

These two events are:

  • Quiz Master
  • Sandwich Landy

Obtaining a Stale Baguette from the Quiz Master Random Event

OSRS players will know when the Quiz Master event is about to begin. The words “It’s your lucky day!” will appear, and you can optionally teleport to the event. Don’t misclick and decline, as you want that bread!

Fortunately, the random event is quite simple. The Quiz Master wants you to participate in the Odd One Out game. This game makes the player answer four different questions. Each question requires players to point out which of the three displayed items differs from the rest, thus the odd one out.

Be successful and you will be rewarded with either 1000 coins or a Mystery Box. It’s the latter that we want. When you’re teleported back, click on the Mystery Box to open it. The Stale Baguette has a 1/256 (0.39%) chance of dropping and can be obtained in both free-to-play and member worlds.

Obtaining a Stale Baguette from the Sandwich Lady Random Event

Lucky OSRS players will receive a visit from the Sandwich Lady who wishes to offer them a delicious baked good to eat. There are seven different food items to choose from, but you must choose the same item that she offers you. Otherwise, you’ll miss out. The only way to obtain a Stale Baguette from her is to cross your fingers that she offers you a baguette from her tray. If she does, there is a 1/64 (1.57%) chance that the baguette she gives you is a Stale Baguette. Honestly, those are better odds than buying bread from the supermarket.

If you complete a random event and aren’t lucky enough to be rewarded with a Stale Baguette, there’s always next time. Continuing to play the game will allow you to experience repeated random events. But, if you’re not patient or feeling dry, you can buy it from the Grand Exchange from other players.
