How to Start the Event

The Nightveil Hallow event can only be triggered by players who meet the level requirement (Level 35), so make sure you’re leveled up before attempting to join the festivities. If you’re not at Level 35 yet, go out into Aeternum and start grinding!

Once you’re Level 35, head to Salvatore, the quest NPC for the event, which is located at large green cauldrons in major towns within Aeternum. If you still can’t find him, look out for the pumpkinhead on your map. If you try to approach Salvatore while under Level 35, you will be restricted to browsing the event shop.

How to Find Baalphazu

Baalphazu, the central antagonist of the Nightveil Hallow Event, is a Level 66 Elite World Boss that can be found at designated event areas, where his face will be marked on your map. Baalphazu will spawn in the following locations:

  • Great Cleave
  • Edengrove
  • Mourningdale
  • Ebonscale Reach
  • Brightwood
  • Weaver’s Fen

Check the global chat for any information on where Baalphazu may be spawning in real-time. Or you could just follow the crowd.  Make sure to coordinate with other players, as Baalphazu is an Elite boss who requires teamwork to locate and engage effectively.

Lore Note

Baalphazu is an ancient demon who was once sealed away by the early settlers of Aeternum. However, as the corruption spread, the seal weakened, allowing Baalphazu to return during the Nightveil Hallow. His return brings darkness and corruption, and it’s up to the players to defeat him once more and restore balance to Aeternum.

How to Defeat Baalphazu

Baalphazu is a formidable opponent, and defeating him requires strategic preparation:

  • Form a Group: This Elite boss is best tackled in a group. Make sure you have a tank, healers, and DPS players in your party to effectively manage his mechanics.
  • Avoid his Attacks: Baalphazu casts attacks that cover large areas. These attacks deal massive damage, so the best thing to do is to keep moving.
  • Interrupt Key Abilities: Baalphazu has a channeling ability that can empower him. Assign someone to interrupt these channeling abilities to reduce the damage output.

Tip: Defeat the Pumpkinhead monsters and throw their left-behind pumpkinheads at Baalphazu. This will significantly stun and damage him.

Persistence is key, as Baalphazu is known to have multiple phases, with each phase becoming progressively more challenging. Keep communication clear with your team to adapt to his attacks.

Lore Note

Baalphazu’s power stems from the Corrupted, and his abilities are drawn from the dark forces that plague Aeternum. Legends speak of his desire to plunge the entire island into eternal night, feeding off the fear of its inhabitants.

Rewards for Defeating Baalphazu

Once you defeat Baalphazu, you’ll be rewarded with a variety of items. These include:

  • Nightveil Tokens: The primary currency of the event, which you can use in the event shop.
  • Ichor: An ethereal substance dropped by Baalphazu when defeated, which can be thrown into the town cauldron for access to even more rewards.
  • Unique Gear Drops: Receive rare weapon and armor pieces, as well as costumes, each with unique stats and appearances.

Trick-or-Treating: Candies and Costumes

Visit towns across Aeternum to collect treats. These can be found by interacting with Halloween-themed hidden baskets that pop up as you pass them. Completing these activities will reward you with Candies, which can be used for buffs or traded for Nightveil Tokens. In order to collect these treats, you’ll need to get in costume and go trick or treating.

Candy can be obtained through trick-or-treating or as loot from defeating enemies during the event. Candies provide temporary stat boosts like increased strength, stamina regeneration, or improved luck for gathering. Keep an eye on your candy supply, as these boosts can make a significant difference when battling Baalphazu or exploring during the event.

Lore Note

The Candies distributed during Nightveil Hallow are said to be infused with ancient magic, originally created by alchemists to ward off evil spirits. Consuming these enchanted treats grants players the strength needed to face the challenges of the event.

Nightveil Hallow wouldn’t be complete without costumes! You can purchase various spooky costumes from the event shop, which is accessible via Salvatore. These costumes add some flair to your character, making trick-or-treating way more fun!
