Does NBA 2K26 Have Crossplay and Cross-Progression Support? Answered

You know the drill.

NBA 2K26 is the latest entry in the long-running sports series from 2K and Visual Concepts, featuring the best teams and athletes in the NBA. Despite being a 2025 release, NBA 2K26 is still a cross-generation title and is coming to multiple platforms with support for several multiplayer game modes.

That said, crossplay support has been a bit limited in the past titles. Has that changed with NBA 2K26? Here is everything you need to know about its crossplay and cross-progression capabilities.

Does NBA 2K26 Have Crossplay Support?

NBA 2K26 has crossplay support between PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, meaning it’s limited to just two consoles. PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch versions are excluded from this feature.

It’s a shame that, just like the last few games, PC gamers are restricted to just their platform in NBA 2K26, even though the price is the same. For Xbox Series S|X and PS5 players, though, crossplay will be available in co-op matches and online tournaments.

Does NBA 2K26 Have Cross-Progression Support?

NBA 2K26 does support cross-progression, but it’s limited to consoles within the same family. This means you can enjoy cross-progression between PlayStation devices or between Xbox devices, but not across the two console families. You can use MyTEAM cross-progression and a shared VC wallet in NBA 2K26

Again, this is pretty limiting in terms of the feature, and I doubt that there are many players who are going to play the game on both the PS4 and PS5. The PC version continues to be the least desirable platform simply because it doesn’t have the common features one expects from modern AAA releases with multiplayer modes.

NBA 2K26 also supports dual entitlement, which means that when you buy the game through the PlayStation or Microsoft Store, you’ll receive separate copies of the PS4 and PS5 versions. This way, you can enjoy the game no matter which console you’re on in the specific family. Keep in mind that this is limited to the digital version of the game, as buying the physical edition only provides a copy for the console you purchased it for.

Overall, it’s a bit of a shame that 2K hasn’t made progress in this regard, and crossplay is limited to just two consoles in NBA 2K26.
