If you’ve been trying to crack into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare today but you haven’t had much luck, it might be because of a certain error code that appears to be plaguing players across multiple platforms. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Error Code 65536 – What Is This?

For starters, the Modern Warfare 65536 error code appears to be one dealing with general connection errors. It’s commonly encountered when players are searching for matches online – they’ll receive a disconnection status with this corresponding error code when Modern Warfare tries to fetch their online profile. 

We’ve had a bit of a kick around the Activision community forums and it looks like this particular error affects multiple Call of Duty titles, not just Modern Warfare. If you’ve had mates trying to crack into Infinite Warfare as well, they’re probably no stranger to this particular problem. Unfortunately, there doesn’t appear to be a patented fix for this yet that has been approved by Activision or the community.

From the forum posts and the experiences of players, Modern Warfare error code 65536 is a connection error code that is general enough for all titles to encounter. It’s not related specifically to the way that servers are set up for the latest Modern Warfare game, and it looks like Activision usually sorts these out after they’ve had a couple of hours but it’s all on their end and not yours.
