There's been another Infinity Ward leak, and this time it's all about the potential upcoming Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode which will host 200 players, amongst other features.

Those who have been craving their Battle Royale fix will no longer have to swap off from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and onto Fortnite. There’s been a recent leak which appears to essentially confirm the existence of an upcoming Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode. This hasn’t yet been announced in any official capacity by Infinity Ward, but it seems like the commercially prudent next step for the game. Here’s what we know so far about the Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode judging from datamined leaks.

Modern Warfare Battle Royale Mode: What We Know

There is a lot to unpack about the new Modern Warfare Battle Royale mode, judging from what’s been exposed at this point in time; a leaked map is just the beginning. Here’s a couple of things on the list of features that we’re expecting will be out with this new 200-person lobby that’s apparently going to be a thing:

  • Solo, duos, and 4-player squads
  • Private and public matches
  • Respawn tokens for injured teammates which puts them into the Prison Gulag
  • Prison Gulag mode where players fight for the right to party (read: respawn)
  • Betting on players in Prison Gulag mode
  • Assassination and Scavenger Hunt missions
  • Varying loot rarities that go from White (Common) to Gold (the Best)
  • Multiplayer mode weapons, attachments, equipment, and upgrades
  • No duplicates allowed for weapons
  • Plunder currency which can be converted into XP in a process that alerts enemies

The original leak was posted up by the user Senescallo on Reddit, and it’s definitely gained a lot of traction over the past day or so. We’ve linked to the original post so that you can read a full list of all the potential upcoming changes. As we’ve mentioned, Infinity Ward hasn’t confirmed any of this yet so we wouldn’t be surprised if there was at least a little bit changed before everything gets pushed through on a live patch.
