When it comes to legendary videogame franchises, one of the most iconic names is undeniably Metal Gear Solid. The series created by Hideo Kojima began nearly 36 years with the first entry Metal Gear in 1987, and has since been followed by a variety of acclaimed sequels and spinoffs. Presently, multiple Metal Gear Solid remasters and remakes are in the works, including the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1, which will bring some of the series’ biggest classics to current-gen gaming in an exciting compilation set to launch later this year. The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 1 will release on October 24, 2023. This date shortly follows the 25th anniversary of Metal Gear Solid, which launched for the PS1 on September 3, 1998.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2?

Currently, there is no solid information on when the second volume of the Master Collection will arrive, or what games will be included, but it seems all but guaranteed due to the first entry’s “Volume 1” designation. There are unconfirmed reports that the PS3 exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be part of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Volume 2, but this has not yet been fully corroborated.
