As the sun sets on the archaic version of Night City, a new dawn is on the horizon. With Phantom Liberty on the horizon, alongside the reworked Cyberpunk 2.0, we’ve got a lot of new content waiting for us as we return to the futuristic world that awaits us. However, glances and traces have shown what seems to be a familiar face in the world of Cyberpunk 2077. Is it actually Idris Elba, or just someone that looks very similar?
Is Idris Elba In The Cyberpunk Expanion?
Your eyes are not deceiving you: that is the man himself playing a character in the Phantom Liberty expansion. Idris Elba plays the character Solomon Reed, who will help your character throughout this enhanced version of Night City in Phantom Liberty. Not only did he lend his likeness to the game, but his character will be fully voiced and acted by him, as well. This matches well with Keanu Reeves taking the part of Johnny Silverhand during the base game, but we have yet to know if the two will cross paths at any point in this adventure. Early trailers suggest they will, but we’ll need to see if that was a bait and switch.
Will Idris Elba Be In Cyberpunk 2077 Version 2.0?
It’s unclear if Solomon Reed will make an appearance during the events of the base game when the new patch drops on September 21, 2023, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for this new character on our adventures through Night City. It seems unlikely that he will appear during the events of the main story, but only time will tell at this point.
While Cyberpunk 2077 may have been slightly unfinished during launch, it seems that Phantom Liberty has delivered on all the promises made. This expansion is shaping up to be a huge improvement over what we originally saw, so get ready to visit the Ripperdoc and get augmented before it launches.
