The latest patch for Tekken 8 has officially added photo mode to the game along with Lidia, the latest character to join the growing roster. The photo mode isn’t an afterthought either, but it’s fairly detailed with tons of options to tweak, and you can take some excellent shots while using it. Here is how you can access the photo mode in Tekken 8.

Using the Photo Mode in Tekken 8

To use the photo mode in Tekken 8, you need to head into any offline mode like training, and select Photo Mode from the pause menu. This can only be accessed during offline play, for obvious reasons.

After that, you’ll be locked into your current position, and you can adjust different settings for the camera, effects, character visibility, filters, and even add effects like raindrops.

There are sliders for most effects, and you can zoom out quite a bit.

Apart from photo mode, here are the highlights of Patch 1.06.01.

  • New playable character ‘Lidia Sobieska’ added
  • New battle stage ‘SEASIDE RESORT’ added
  • New feature ‘PHOTO MODE’ added
  • New items added to the TEKKEN SHOP
  • Feature improvements and bug fixes
  • Properties and/or behavior for select moves of select characters were adjusted

The patch also mentions that the photo mode will be updated in future patches as well to add more features. We hope that they can add a shortcut to access photo mode more easily because currently, you have to through the pause menu to enable it.

For more information, you can read the complete patch notes. The update is live on all platforms, and maintenance has been completed.

Overall, it’s an excellent addition, and there is careful thought put into it. We hope that this addition encourages other studios to add photo modes to their fighting games as well.
