How to Upgrade Mech Tools in Lightyear Frontier

The tools for your mech can be upgraded by using an Upgrade Depot. The structure can be crafted with 24 Stone, four Aluminum Rod, and four Aluminum Frame.

The Stone and Aluminum Rod can be found by scavenging the wild, but the Aluminum Frame will require the Assembler construct. It can be built with 10 Aluminum Rod, 10 Stone, and four Plant Oil.

Then players will need an additional two Aluminum Rod to make one Aluminum Frame. That means you will need at least 22 Aluminum Rod to complete the Upgrade Station.

Once built, your mech will park itself on the platform and you will automatically get out. The upgrades can be accessed at the computer screen, and each of the upgrades have their own material cost to purchase.

All Mech Tool Upgrades in Lightyear Frontier

There are currently 33 upgrades that players can craft for their mech. These upgrades allow your mech to become faster, hold more resources before becoming over-encumbered, and strengthen your tools to conquer tougher challenges.

Under the Farming skill tree, players will be able to lock on and plant seeds at up to 64 mounds when fully maxed out. The mech’s Irrigation Hose will also hold more water, increase its range, widen the splash area, and wash away stronger slime.

The Gathering skill tree focuses on upgrading the Spike Saw to cut through tougher materials and in fewer hits. It will also increase your mech’s storage and widen the area that the Vacuum Harvester can suck up items with.

The Traversal skill tree upgrades the mech itself with the ability to create mounds and paths in Mech Mode. The tree also upgrades your mech’s sprint speed and thrusters to run faster and jump higher for longer.
