Here’s everything you need to know about upgrading your Hyperlinks in Etheria: Restart.

How to Upgrade Your Characters in Etheria: Restart

When you go to your Animus and hover over your Hyperlinks, you can immediately upgrade their level using Investigation Records. These Investigation Records have three types: primary, intermediate, and advanced.

They are all primarily for boosting the level of your Hyperlinks. Even when you can level them up through challenges, missions, and other content, it is much faster to use the Investigation Records, which also means you can use Hyperlink characters to clear content while leveling them up – the most efficient strategy of leveling Hyperlinks.

Aside from leveling and uncapping stars, you can also strengthen your characters through Shells, Modules, and Prowess.

Modules

Modules are basically gear for your Hyperlinks. Hyperlinks rely heavily on Modules, which account for around 30-40% of their strength.

Each Hyperlink can equip six Modules, each having varying fixed stats and random substats. As a rule of thumb, you would want percentage-based rolls whenever available because they can scale your stats much higher.

Hyperlinks should have different “power scaling,” and they should have specific stats to increase their power. For example, Freya, a support Hyperlink, would love to get SPD stats so she can take more turns and apply more buffs to your team and debuffs to the enemies. She can increase the turn meter on your allies, so if Freya is fast, your team also gets faster because of her skill set.

It’ll take a while to get and upgrade the perfect modules, but that’s where the bulk of your playtime will go – grinding endless PvE content. You’ll use Etheria Coins to upgrade your modules, so keep that in mind when farming.

Shells

Shells act like your Hyperlink’s pets. They give passive effects and usually have a skill to support your Hyperlink’s turn. It could be some additional damage stats, turn meter buffs, or just help deal more damage to the target.

Shells need Training Data for their upgrades, so don’t forget to empower them. Leveling them up should unlock their passives.

Prowess

Prowess upgrades are all about the Hyperlink’s skills. Some Hyperlinks may have some extremely “crucial” effects at certain tiers of their skills, making Prowess upgrades important. These skill upgrades require Anima Imprint materials, which might be hard to farm, but if you play consistently, you should be able to max out a few Hyperlinks.

When upgrading Prowess, you want to upgrade their skills enough so that they reach certain level thresholds. If you upgrade only up to the basic imprints, you’ll only get flat attributes and not the important skill effects like “increase the final damage boost for each different buff by 6%,” which truly highlights how important these upgrades are for the strength of the Hyperlink.

Keep that in mind so you can save some of your Anima Imprints.
