How to Unlock the HRM-9 in MW3 and Warzone

Two new weapons have been added to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone with the Season 1 Reloaded update, including the HRM-9 submachine gun. Unlike so many other unlocks, it’s not tied to the Weekly Challenges, and I’ll explain in this guide.

MW3 and Warzone: How to Get the HRM-9

To unlock the HRM-9, you need to complete four challenges in Sector A21 of the Battle Pass or purchase the weapon in a bundle from the store. I highly recommend saving your money and simply getting the challenges out of the way because they are far easier than the weekly task requirements. And if you don’t have the Battle Pass, there is no need to worry because every new weapon in MW3 is free to unlock.

If you decide to unlock the HRM-9 through the Battle Pass, you need to complete four challenges. Once all four are done, you can claim the fifth reward in the Sector A21 slot. Claiming the last slot completes the full sector and you’ll have the new SMG available for use in the Gunsmith for custom loadouts.

All Challenges to Unlock the HRM-9 Listed:

• Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie kills while aiming down sights with SMGs – JAK Thunder LMG Kit
• Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie hipfire kills with SMGs – JAK BFB
• Get 10 Operator Headshots or Special Zombie critical kills with SMGs – Cranium Cracked Emblem
• Get 10 Operator or Special Zombie Tac Stance kills with SMGs – 30 Minutes Battle Pass XP Token

Those of you who want to skip the challenges entirely can spend 2,000 COD Points in the shop on the System Error bundle. Purchasing System Error gives you two blueprints, including one for the HRM-9 that gives you access to the weapon in custom loadouts. But you’ll still need to level up the SMG separately.

HRM-9 Challenge Progress Not Tracking

For some players, challenges aren’t tracking for the HRM-9 after the release of Season 1 Reloaded. Issues like this are common for new unlocks in MW3, so I would expect there to be a quick fix if you still can’t get your challenges to track. This already happened for two different conversion kits in Season 1 and both were eventually fixed.

Another submachine gun kit that was released this season was the JAK Headhunter Carbine which you can still unlock.
