How to Unlock New Game Plus in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

A little more wealth than anticipated.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the latest entry in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, and offers a New Game Plus mode for players to play again after finishing the story. However, the way it can be unlocked works a bit differently than previous games.

How to Unlock New Game Plus in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Players who want to access the New Game Plus mode in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will first have to purchase the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition of the game. The mode is a feature exclusive to those editions, which cost $84.99 and $109.99 respectively.

More specifically, the game mode is part of the Master Vacation Bundle. It is an add-on that contains New Game Plus, more difficulty modes, a bonus dungeon, extra achievements, and an outfit set that is also sold separately for $19.99. Standard Edition owners will not be able to start New Game Plus unless they purchase the Master Vacation Bundle.

Once owned, the New Game Plus will become available after finishing the main story and the credits roll. The game will instruct players to make a separate save file for the new adventure, in case players would like to return to their previous saves to finish up any loose ends.

New Game Plus Progress That Carries Over in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

The New Game Plus mode in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth does not start back at the beginning, and some of the progress made will carry over to the new save. This includes your characters’ levels, gear, items, money, and personality challenges earned.

What does not carry over to New Game Plus are story progress and some Substory events. Players will have to complete these events again, though being overleveled and having done it before will make the second time around much easier.
