Dredge’s second major expansion, The Iron Rig, is now available on PC and consoles, adding a brand new structure to explore with new content, quests, weird NPCs, and fishes to catch. Most players returning to Dredge will likely resume their existing save file, and here is how you can start The Iron Rig expansion in Dredge.

Dredge The Iron Rig Location – How to Start the DLC

The location for The Iron Rig isn’t automatically added to the map, but you can reach it by heading North from the Marrows and following the silhouette of the rig in the distance.

  • The Rig is visible from the Marrows and should be from most locations near the middle of the map
  • Follow the Rig’s silhouette and make your way north
  • During the short trip, you’ll likely run into a new type of resource called Ironhaven Crate. Be sure to pick it up, as it’ll be useful later on
  • Keep going North, and you’ll eventually make your way to The Iron Rig
  • Dock at the Iron Rig, and you’ll see the location marked on the map

If you have collected at least two Ironhaven Crates, you can now complete the first quest by giving those to Foreman, who is one of the new characters.

This will unlock the Base of Operations, allowing you to interact with more NPCs and start your adventure around the Iron Rig properly. Don’t worry if you didn’t pick up those crates earlier because he’ll mark their location on the map as well.

Dredge has been updated a few times since its launch, adding new achievements with both expansions as well. While this isn’t a very long expansion, it’s more Dredge, and what more can one ask for?
