How to Solve the Boiler Talisman Puzzle in Alone in the Dark

It all boils down to simple numbers!

During Chapter 2, one of your main objectives will be to fix the oil boiler on the lower floor. You must first visit the Wine Cellar to grab a valve to stop the gas leaking, so visit before heading to the Boiler Room. There are also the two missing pieces scattered around the mansion, which can be found in Cassandra’s Room and in the Boiler Room itself. Visit the patient’s room before heading to your final objective.

Once you enter the Boiler Room, interact with the boiler to start the first tile puzzle. You must complete the image until it looks exactly like this:

In case you’re wondering, the solution tip was hidden on the fifth page of the Commonplace Book. Use the sun tile as your guidance, then start arranging the other pieces around it. The lower pieces are easier to arrange than the upper ones too, so focus on them first and be careful with the cloud tiles. Once you’re done with this, it’s time for the Talisman.

After you get the correct image, the three pressure gauges will display different numbers each, which you must input in your Talisman. The order is defined by the clock’s size, so the password is 975 after putting them in order.

Input the numbers on each of the talisman’s disks accordingly. If you’re playing in Modern guidance, the numbers will be shown on the side of the screen. This is absent in Old School, in which you must pay attention to the arrow pointing to the next disk. The bigger disk’s “arrow” is located at the center of the screen. Your talisman should look like this.

With the combination applied, you must wait for a few seconds as the game loads you into a new area. Good luck exploring the Cemetery and finding those pesky Medallions on your own! If you haven’t got the Shotgun yet, you’ll probably need it here.
