Here are some quick Apex Legends Lifeline tips and strategies for playing the medic.

In Apex Legends, success goes to the last team standing, and a skilled healer can tip the balance in your squad’s favor. In this guide, we’ll be going over Lifeline (real name Ajay Che), and her abilities so that your squad can be kept in good shape on the road to victory.

Lifeline is one of two support class characters currently featured in Apex Legends. She can heal squadmates, recharge their shields, and call down equipment upgrades, making her an extremely valuable member of the team.

Here’s a quick rundown of Lifeline’s abilities:

Combat Medic (Passive Ability): As a dedicated medic, Lifeline can revive teammates faster than any other character. She even throws down a shield to protect against incoming fire while doing so. Her character also has the added bonus of having syringes and shield batteries work 25 percent faster than everyone else.

D.O.C. Heal Drone (Tactical Ability): Lifeline can deploy a D.O.C. (Drone of Compassion) to steadily heal nearby squadmates, but they must remain within its effective radius.

Care Package (Ultimate Ability): Once charged, Lifeline can call a supply drop in to a chosen location. Inside will be three powerful weapons, attachments, armor, and consumable items.

Beginner Tactics

Lifeline is classified as a combat medic, but she does not offer continuous recovery for her squadmates. So, instead of supporting teammates while they do most of the heavy damage, players are encouraged to jump into a fight while her abilities charge.

Unlike some of the other Apex Legends characters, Lifeline cannot save herself if she’s caught in open ground. So, it’s a good idea to stay behind clover and close to the team as much as possible. Your teammates should keep a close watch on your back, since you can quickly revive downed allies. Just be sure to face the direction of incoming gunfire before you start reviving so that the shield is placed correctly. But keep in mind that the shield won’t last forever, so you need to get in and out quickly. Asking teammates who happen to be playing as Bangalore or Gibraltar to cover you with their abilities will help make a speedy escape from gunfire.

Ironically, Lifeline’s healing drone is probably her least useful ability. It’s stationary and slowly heals within a small radius of effect. Most of the time, the drone is best used after an intense fight so that they won’t waste syringes or medkits on themselves. Communications is critical in these cases, especially in the early phases of the game, so let your team know when you’re about to share some compassion.

On the other hand, the Care Package ultimate is perhaps Lifeline’s most powerful ability and it can truly turn things around for the squad. You can call one in as soon as it’s ready unless you’re under fire. Calling in a Care Package early will quickly outfit your squad with rare weapons and powerful armor. Even hard-to-find legendary guns like the Kraber and Mastiff could be found inside of a Care Package.

But be mindful of your surroundings. The Care Package takes time to come down and it makes a lot of noise, potentially giving away your position. Enemies will be tempted to take advantage of the moment by attacking. Everyone should quickly loot the Care Package as soon as it lands and move on. You don’t want to get stuck out in the open.

Advanced Tactics

None of Lifeline’s abilities do damage, so players will have to use her passive abilities to their advantage in a fight. She heals and recharges her shields faster than any other character, giving her an edge with hit-and-run tactics. Quickly take some shots, recharge your shields from behind cover, then hit the enemy again while they are recovering. The key is to always be on the move and to stay behind cover whenever possible for fast recovery.

Unfortunately, the D.O.C. will become increasingly less useful as a match goes on. However, it might still come in handy in a pinch. For example, if you’re in a one-to-one fight with an opponent, seek cover and deploy the drone. It will slowly heal you in the fight. But keep in mind that this is just a slight edge, and a full squad will almost certainly be able to take you out.

The most important thing is maximizing the use of the Care Package ability by asking the team to supply you with Ultimate Accelerants. These items will make Lifeline’s Ultimate recharge faster, and the squad will receive high-grade equipment more often in return.

With Care Packages, your squad won’t have to spend as much time scavenging for gear or fighting over equipment. So, it shouldn’t take too much convincing to get them to pass on their Ultimate Accelerants. After all, the Care Package is Lifeline’s most valuable ability, and it can quickly shift the odds in your team’s favor.
