Maybe you’ve been cracking through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s singleplayer campaign. Maybe you’ve been going through the multiplayer modes or achievement farming, and now you want a bit of a change of pace. Well, you’re in luck: you can try out a whole different playlist if you’re so inclined, and if Realism mode just isn’t doing it for you. Here’s our guide on how to play Hardcore on Modern Warfare.
How to Play Hardcore on Modern Warfare
If you’re wanting to crack into the Hardcore mode in the latest Gall of Duty game, it’s actually pretty easy. We’re just going to go ahead and get the big fat disclaimer out of the way: this is only something that you can do in Multiplayer, so do yourself a favor and make sure that you’re in the right menu before you keep on reading.
Once you’re in the multiplayer lobby, you’ll be able to navigate as usual to your different options including Quick Play, Weapons, Operators, and the like. Crack into Quick Play like you usually would, and it’s there that you’ll note that you have the option to change the Selected Category for the modes that show up. Change this by pressing the prompted key – X, Square, or by selecting it on PC, and you’ll be able to toggle the list of Hardcore modes on. You’ll notice that a map is a Hardcore one when it has the HC prefix in front of the map name, so it’ll be easy to spot. Once you’ve selected the ones that you want to include in your rotation, head back to the lobby and select Quick Play again to crack into the action.
It’s not difficult to figure out how to play Hardcore on Modern Warfare, but it’s just a matter of ensuring that you’re in the right menus to set it up since the game isn’t flagging a Hardcore section specifically for you when you’re in Quick Play or anything else like that.
