There are four areas where Fortnite players can place Kaiju Detection Beacons, though players only need to visit two of these locations to place beacons. The four areas are:

  • North of Whiffy Wharf
  • Southwest of Shogun’s Solitude
  • East of Shattered Span
  • South of Hopeful Heights

Both beacon placements can be done in one match when surviving and the two easiest beacons to place are east of Shattered Span and south of Hopeful Heights. It is the shortest distance between two beacons with no mountains in the way to get around.

The beacon east of Shattered Span will be next to the Demon Portal above Godzilla’s footprints on the beach, so players can complete two challenges at once. It is a straight shot down south from there to the second beacon on the coast of a small island.

The beacons are slightly bigger antennas with a few panels and screens on them. They are already placed in the ground but still need to be activated. Hit the beacon with your pickaxe a few times. You need to hit it once or twice to allow you to basically turn it on without destroying the whole beacon.

Once an interact prompt appears, interact with the Kaiju Detection Beacon to activate it. You will need to do this only twice from the list of four locations noted above.
