PC mods are extremely common. Most games have a plethora of mods available to help enhance or change the experience of the game for fun. Elden Ring already has some great mods out there for PC players, but you might need some help actually installing them. Here is how to install mods for Elden Ring with Nexus Mods.
How to Install Mods For Elden Ring with Nexus Mods
First off you’ll need to go to the Nexus Mods website, sign up, and create a free account. This will allow you actually start browsing and downloading the mods you’re looking for.
Before choosing a mod you want to download, you can download Vortex, an open-source mod manager for Nexus Mods that will house all of the mods you’re looking for once they are downloaded. The Vortex file page will answer some frequently asked questions if you’re curious to learn more about it.
Now that Vortex is downloaded, simply browse Nexus Mods for Elden Ring in the search bar above and download the mods as you see fit. Once they are downloaded, boot up Vortex and use the interface to make sure they are running.
It’s important to note that using mods in Elden Ring will force the game into offline mode as to not ruin other players’ experiences in co-op or invasions.
If you choose to not use Vortex for one reason or another. You can still download the mods separately and manually add them to the Elden Ring folder.
If you use this approach you’ll have to find the location of Elden Ring on your PC. This can be found primarily in your steam files.
This PC > (Whatever drive you download steam games on) > SteamLibrary >Steamapps > Common >Elden Ring.ExE Folder
From there just drop the mods in the folder and the next time you boot the game it should run with the mod. Some mods may vary, so it’s always important to read the description of the mod before installing in case something else must be done.
