How to Holster Your Weapon in Cyberpunk 2077

Put your iron away

Sometimes you don’t want to walk around the streets of Night City with your iron on full display, and it helps to holster your weapon in the right situations within Cyberpunk 2077. But at first, the act of holstering can be tough to find, and I have the easiest buttons to use for each platform.

To holster your weapon, double tape “Triangle” or “Y” on a controller, whether it’s Xbox or PlayStation. On a keyboard and mouse, you can simply hit the “Q” key to hide your iron and walk around without any tools in your hands. If you don’t want to freak people out, even if the occurrence is rare, I suggest doing this in crowded spaces.

You can also use the weapon wheel to holster your weapon in Cyberpunk 2077. Within the weapon wheel, there is an option to take out your fists by themselves or put your weapons away entirely. This method is a bit clunkier for one action, but it at least gives you some faster control over the tools you need at the time.

How to Holster Your Weapon in Cyberpunk 2077

  • Double tap “Triangle” or “Y” on a controller.
  • Use the “Q” key on a keyboard and mouse.
  • Utilize the weapon wheel and select the X.
  • Select your fists to put any of your weapons away.

In some cases, missions or dialogue will eventually force you to holster your weapon without having to worry about hiding your iron. After all, not every citizen of Night City wants you waving your weapons around. There’s a reason you can’t even aim at friendly NPCs in Cyberpunk.

To take your weapons back out, you can always just cycle your weapons or hit the trigger for a quick pull. And, of course, the weapon wheel works in the same way as it would for holstering. If you plan on using the Mantis Blades at any point, you’ll definitely need to get familiar with the weapon wheel. It’s where you can activate your blades instantly and then gently place them back into your arms.

If you really want to hide those weapons, make sure you know how to open up the weapon stash door at your apartment in Cyberpunk 2077.
