Of the many unique weapons in Starfield, The Zapper is honestly one of the most accessible and most affordable to acquire. All it takes is a quiet trip to Akila City, then a shopping stint at Rowland Arms. You can buy The Zapper from the merchant here for 9,284 Credits, which isn’t much when you think about the cost of some high-end ships and other unique weapons in the game.

When you first arrive at Akila City, you’ll note the ongoing bank robbery in progress in the center of town. It’s okay to pass this by and avoid getting involved. After all, it’s not your money.

Head straight past the in-progress robbery and defensive line, then you’ll find Rowland Arms on the left-hand side of the main road, right on the corner before The Rock. It’s hard to miss.

Inside, speak with the vendor and, credits allowing, buy yourself The Zapper!

The Zapper is a unique variant of The Rattler, a physical-damage handgun that appears more futuristic than the Eon. It’s a fine early-game weapon, but it scales with Pistol Certification and Ballistics, which turn this Tesla round-firing weapon into the workhorse of any fast-moving build.

For now, check out the stats on The Zapper:

  • Weapon Type: Pistol
  • Damage: 12
  • Damage Type: Physical
  • Ammo Type: .27 Caliber
  • Magazine: 28
  • Rate of Fire: 104
  • Mod Slots: 7
  • Mass: 2.85
  • Perk: Tesla – Rounds occasionally deal electrical damage and slow targets.
  • Mod Slot 1: Long Barrel
  • Mod Slot 2: Compensator
  • Mod Slot 3: Large Magazine
  • Mod Slot 4: High Powered
  • Mod Slot 5: Binary Trigger
  • Item Code: 002D7913

If you have the caps, we highly recommend picking up The Zapper as an excellent early-game sidearm. It complements most builds in the game and is perfect for when your primary weapon runs low on ammunition.
