How to Get the Sun Stone in Pokemon Go

To get the Sun Stone in Pokemon Go, you need to spin PokeStops. If you’re an avid player, you have done this a thousand times; any time you see one of those circular blue markers on the map, give it a spin. The Sun Stone has a 1% drop rate, making it incredibly rare to find, but this is your best bet at obtaining one.

Every day in succession that you spin a PokeStop, you get a day added to your streak. On the seventh day in a row, you’re rewarded with a special evolution item, which could be a Sun Stone! Again, it’s not a guarantee, but it’s another way to help maximize your opportunities to find one.

You can also get Sun Stones in Pokemon Go by spinning Gyms. The odds of receiving a Sun Stone from a Gym or Pokestop are identical.

Some select Field Researches might offer one as a reward, but it’s not consistent enough to make it a primary way of getting the Sun Stone.

You are most likely going to receive a Sun Stone from the seven day Pokestop spin streaks, however there is always that chance of acquiring one from a random spin.

Pokemon that Evolve with a Sun Stone in Pokemon Go

Here are the Pokemon that evolve with a Sun Stone:

  • Cottonee
  • Gloom
  • Helioptile

Now that you know how to get a Sun Stone in Pokemon Go, it’s time to get out there and start that Pokestop spinning streak up!
