How to Get Shellac in Skull and Bones

Wouldn't Shellac to know where to find it

Whether it’s for a cargo contract or you want to chase some more upgrades, you will eventually need some Shellac in Skull and Bones. I will explain exactly how you can start collecting the material in my guide for the open ocean.

Where to Find Shellac in Skull and Bones

Shellac can be earned by plundering Settlements in the Straight of Harimau. You can approach Settlements like Kencur and initiate a Plunder activity to earn five different reward drops. Each one will provide you with a small amount of Shellac, among other materials such as relics or Batik in Skull and Bones.

The Straight of Harimau has some of the best chances to plunder Shellac, but it’s not the area that technically matters in this instance. Shellac is earned by plundering any areas that are controlled by the Dominion of Rempah. That means over time some of the spots you want to plunder could change, or you’ll find better Settlements further north.

Because Shellac is a specialty material in Skull and Bones, you won’t be able to use the Refinery vendor to get more for your ship like you would with Bronze Ingots. There are no raw versions of the wood coating for you to collect, which means upscaling is impossible. You have to fight against the Rempah faction to get the material you need.

Don’t forget to check some traders as you make your way to the Dominion of Rempah-controlled territory. Sometimes they have a chance to sell you materials for some Silver in return. But I wouldn’t throw all my Silver away at traders. Taking what you want for free is the true way of the Pirate in Skull and Bones.

As you start getting better materials, keep yourself stocked up on Acacia.
