How to Get Morpeko in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Innocent looks might deceive you

One of the most unique Pikaclones out there, Morpeko is an Electric/Dark type Pokemon introduced back in Generation VIII, but returned in The Teal Mask DLC in Gen IX. Finding it is, fortunately, relatively easy, as long as you have the correct game. Here’s where you can spot it.

Where to Find Morpeko in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Morpeko is a Violet exclusive, meaning that you can only get it via trading if you have Scarlet. If you’re playing on its native version, an easy early spot to find it is next to the Wistful Fields in the western area of Kitakami. It’s a common spawn, so it shouldn’t take you long to find it.

It’s also present in many other grassy patches around Kitakami, so you shouldn’t have difficulty finding it. It doesn’t evolve into any other Pokemon, and you will always catch it in its Full Belly form.

Tip:

Scarlet also has its own exclusives, so getting a few extra Morpekos to trade for those later is always a good call.

How to Get Hangry Mode Morpeko in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Morpeko is usually seen in its happy-go-luck self while in Full Belly mode, but it gets quite irritated once it enters Hangry Mode. I wouldn’t touch that thing with a ten-foot pole unless I felt like losing a finger today.

Hangry Mode Morpeko cannot be found in the wild, and the special mode is exclusive to battle. Morpeko enters its angry mood once its turn is over, and its Signature Move Aura Wheel, usually an Electric-type move, becomes a Dark-type. He returns to the usual Full Belly mode once his angry turn ends.

Morpeko also resets to Full Belly whenever you finish a battle (either by running, catching, or fainting the opponent), so you can’t have Hangry Mode walking around with you. And that’s probably for your safety.

He’s one of the few version-exclusive Pokemon introduced in the new DLC pack. Take a look at some of the others here.
