How to Get More Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

If only those Masterworking Crits work, then we wouldn't be needed these as much.

With Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred’s massive rework in progression, everything will feel different in the Season of Hatred. Some materials that were so easy to find become more scarce, but none comes more to a microscope than the Forgotten Souls material. You’ll suddenly find yourself lacking some of these materials. They are still easy to get, but with new features coming into the game every season, some methods become neglected, and you just need to farm the right content. Here’s how to get more Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.

How to Farm Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

Forgotten Souls drop in the following content for Season of Hatred:

  • Tortured Gifts in Helltides
  • Infernal Hordes
  • Undercity of Kurast
  • Dark Citadel
  • Bartering in the Mercenary Den

They are quite a common drop, but they are also used in so many things like Masterworking gear and imprinting on ancestral legendaries. Most players will have problems getting Forgotten Souls in the early game, but it is easily solved by doing any of the following content above.

Most players who lack Forgotten Souls probably spammed Pit because it is the best way to level up fast while also leveling your glyphs at the same time. You want a good mix of running different types of content, or you’ll encounter problems like these in the future.

Out of all the content above, Dark Citadel might be the worst content to run for Forgotten Souls, but it is still worth running to get the weekly cache.

It is also worth mentioning that Tormented bosses give a lot of Forgotten Souls. It isn’t a good way to farm Forgotten Souls, specifically, but you can run boss rotation groups and get a lot of drops by sharing summoning materials with others. It is the most time-efficient way to farm Forgotten Souls and other mythic unique items, but running it is limited because you need some boss summoning materials for the farm.

The Best Way to Farm Forgotten Souls in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

The best way to farm Forgotten Souls is in the Undercity of Kurast. Each run takes about 2-3 minutes, and you’ll get some decent loot, depending on your tributes. Getting and offering Tributes that give more crafting materials will give you more Forgotten Souls. However, getting a run to around 2-3 minutes will take a strong and mobile build. The best Spiritborn builds might even push for less than 2 minutes per run, giving you even more loot per minute, as long as you have the Tributes.

Infernal Hordes should be slightly better than Helltides since they offer more materials. However, they take a long time to finish, and with Helltides, you can stop anytime you want. It is up to you which farm method to try.
