To get the Lost In The Game achievement, you need to trigger one checkmate in Grand Garden. This is easily one of the toughest tasks in all of Marvel Rivals, as it asks you to play a very complex game in the middle of a heated battlefield.

How to get Checkmate in Grand Garden in Marvel Rivals

You can get a checkmate in Grand Garden by attacking the chess pieces on the massive board in a specific order, which is pawn, king, queen, knight, and then bishop. Following this sequence triggers a checkmate, thus completing the Lost In The Game achievement.

Trigger Checkmate in Grand Garden in Marvel Rivals

Completing the Lost In The Game achievement can be tricky even after you know what’s being asked of you, so here’s a full step-by-step walkthrough to help you successfully trigger one checkmate at Grand Garden for it.

  • Select the Grand Garden Annihilation map. This achievement can only be completed at this specific location, so your first step is to make sure you choose this location and mode.
  • Load into a Quick Match or Practice VS. AI match. While most achievements can only be completed in regular matches, this one can be tackled in Practice VS. AI. It’s a lot easier to get done in this mode, so it’s best to choose this option out of the two.
  • Select a flying character. Any character who can shoot can get this achievement done, but you’ll have a much easier time using a flying hero here. Characters like Angela, Storm, and Human Torch are perfect for this task.
  • Locate the massive chessboard. It’s near the edge of the map and is completely outside.

  • Move the chess pieces in the correct order to trigger a checkmate. You can move them by striking a piece three times with any melee attack. The correct order is as follows.
    • Move the pawn.
    • Move the king.
    • Move the queen.
    • Move the knight.
    • Move the bishop.
  • Complete the round. Achievements may not track and count properly if you quit early, so be sure to finish the full round to complete this task.

You don’t need to win the round to get this quest done, instead, your sole focus is simply getting the pieces moved around to execute a checkmate. As tough as this can be, this achievement tracks progress for the whole team, which means that if anyone on your team completes this achievement during a round, the rest of the team also gets it.

If you’re up for tackling more achievements, there are plenty of other tricky ones worth working on. Next, you might try completing The DefendersPrank of Monkey King, and Blueprints Supreme.
