How to Get Legendary Treasure Chests in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar

Get that Summer Sun Stone!

The Legendary Treasure Chests are one of the most difficult things to find in Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. There’s a specific spot, weather, and tool upgrade to get a chance to get it.

Here’s everything you need to get a Legendary Treasure Chest and finally craft that Summer Sun Stone in SoS: Grand Bazaar.

Where to Find the Legendary Treasure Chest in Story of Seasons Grand Bazaar – Fishing Location

The Legendary Treasure Chest is found when fishing in the mountains, specifically the tiny isolated island on the top-left corner. Initially, I was intrigued very early in my playthrough as Samir and Arata always fish here.

From all that time fishing, I was never able to get the Legendary Treasure Chest, but it turns out it is on the same body of water, and there are just a few requirements.

First, the weather needs to be cloudy. It is still unclear if rainy works. Rainy works with finding the Ancient Fish Fossil, but it could be different for the Legendary Treasure Chest. The Cloudy weather is confirmed, so you should capitalize on that weather.

Second, you might need an Orichalcum Fishing Rod. The reason why I said might is that it could be impossible to fish the Legendary Treasure Chest with just a Golden Fishing Rod+.

When you find the Legendary Treasure Chest, it is going to show a shiny diamond, similar to how you would find rare items like a Bottle of Starry Sand or Medals. When you try to reel it in, there’s going to be 20 fish icons, meaning you need to successfully finish 20 fishing prompts. If the Fishing Rod Technique (upgrade from Felix’s Fixings) triggered, you’ll have a better chance of reeling it in.

If it doesn’t trigger, you can’t even make a mistake, and you barely have enough time to finish all 20 fishing prompts with an Orichalcum Rod. I would even recommend getting some Rod Durability Up buffs from food recipes if you aren’t confident in this minigame.

I never tried fishing for it with the Golden Fishing Rod, but since it is that difficult, I doubt it would appear.

Update: You can get one by using a Golden Fishing Rod+.

After getting your Orichalcum Fishing Rod and fishing in the area, there’s still a low chance of it showing up. Using baits won’t increase the chances, but I can confirm that using baits will still trigger these rare findings (shiny diamond).

Since these are rare, I highly suggest only reeling in the rare findings. You can literally keep your bait on the water forever, and they’ll continue to bite non-stop. Just wait for the shiny diamond icon to pop up and reel it in. There’s still a chance it’s a Medal or even a Rare Metal Can, so you really want to be efficient with the time.

Once you find the Legendary Treasure Chest, keep finding until you get three of them. You’ll need three Legendary Treasure Chests to craft the Summer Sun Stone special item.

I was lucky enough to find three Legendary Treasure Chests in one day, but it basically took more than 12 in-game hours to find them. It is possible but start fishing early if you want to do it this way!
