Galaxy Souls are one of the hardest items to collect, but they are also the most rewarding, allowing you to craft the most epic weapons in all of Stardew Valley. If you want to know how to get your hands on these elusive items, we’ve got everything you need to know about them in this Galaxy Souls guide.
Where to Find Galaxy Souls in Stardew Valley
You can purchase Galaxy Souls from Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room or the Island Trader on the last day of the season. Sounds easy enough, right? but the quest to find Galaxy Souls is a long and arduous one and it begins by completing the Community Center and Willy’s fetch quest to access Ginger Island.Â
Ginger Island is a unique place with plenty of things to keep you entertained, one of which is finding all 130 Golden Walnuts that are hidden around the area. You do have to collect all 130 Golden Walnuts to achieve Perfection in Stardew Valley, but thankfully, you will only need to collect 100 of them to get your hands on Galaxy Souls.
Collecting 100 Golden Walnuts will grant you access to Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room, a small office carved into the side of a cliff on the western side of the island. There are a few things to see in Mr. Qi’s Walnut Room, such as the Perfection Tracker, a shop, and a questboard. The shop will likely be the first thing that catches your eye, as one of the items Mr. Qi sells is Galaxy Souls.
The catch is that each Galaxy Soul purchase costs 40x Qi Gems. Qi Gems are a unique currency only used by Mr. Qi in his Walnut Room, and you can only collect them by completing quests for him. On the left side of the room is a quest board. There are plenty of quests to do, all of which are quite difficult and have strict time limits.
How to Unlock Galaxy Souls at the Island Trader
Unfortunately, there is no getting around doing Mr. Qi’s quests. You can purchase Galaxy Souls from the Island Trader on the last day of the season, but only after you’ve defeated 50x Dangerous Monsters. And to defeat Dangerous Monsters, you have to either complete or at least start one of Mr. Qi’s mysterious and difficult quests. The quest in question is called Danger in the Deep and involves you reaching the bottom of the Mines on hard mode within a week.
You don’t have to complete this quest to purchase Galaxy Souls from the Island Trader, but starting it is the only way to encounter Dangerous Monsters. Slay 50 of them, and you can purchase Galaxy Souls from the Island Trader for 10x Radioactive Bars a pop.
Galaxy Souls are hard to get but well worth the rewards. The Galaxy Sword is already one of the best swords in Stardew Valley, but combining it with Cinder Shards and Galaxy Souls at the forge transforms it into the Infinity Blade, allowing it to reach its full potential.
