There are numerous benefits to partaking in Constellation’s exploration efforts, but none pay quite as well as Walter Stroud. To say he’s loaded would feel like the understatement of the century, which is why he’s willing to pay above and beyond for specific jobs. One of those jobs will grant you a unique rifle. To get Fiscal Quarter in Starfield, you must progress through the main storyline until you reach a point where Walter Stroud will request your help. You must complete “All That Money Can Buy,” as a reward, Walter will provide you with this rare rifle.

It’s a unique variant of the Maelstrom, an early-game weapon that serves its purpose adequately. This one deals armor-piercing damage, making it more viable as you move into Starfield’s mid-game.

While it’s true that the Maelstrom isn’t the most formidable weapon in the game, at least it’s better than the Grendel. Plus, the ammunition is readily available and cheap. But the pre-equipped weapon modifications and Shattering effect make this a viable weapon for an assault rifle build.

Hey, it’s a free weapon. You won’t be too far into the main storyline when Walter hands this one over, so it’s a nice, useful assault rifle that scales well with Ballistics and Rifle Certification. With a few points into both, you’ll wind up tanking through most scenarios to complete the campaign.
