How to Farm the X-45 Heartbreaker in WoW Love is in the Air Event

Love is in the air, but what about luck? If you want to ride the big pink rocket, you must hope against hope, like per, for one of WoW’s rarest mounts.

The X-45 Heartbreaker is a Love is in the Air exclusive mount, found in the Heart-Shaped Box dropped by Apothecary Hummel. To fight Apothecary Hummel, you must queue using Group Finder for the Crown Chemical Co. dungeon. 

There are some caveats, of course. You’ll need to be level 60 to obtain the mount, and your best chance comes from the first Heart-Shaped Box you earn each day. This means that farming Apothecary Hummel on multiple characters is NOT a suggested way of farming for the mount. The “increased” drop chance of your first eligible loot pull is so much higher that doing more in a single day is a fool’s errand.

We’ve heard your feedback on the frustrations with X-45 Heartbreaker’s low drop rate and feeling the pressure of having to farm the mount by cycling through as many alts as possible every day. From now on, the first Heart-Shaped Box you receive each day across your Battle.net account will have a greatly increased chance to contain the X-45 Heartbreaker mount.

So, to reiterate, don’t feel the need to farm this mount on every character, every day. The best way to try to obtain it is to naturally run Crown Chemical Co. once a day on any character of your choice. 

Of course, there’s more than just the mount to earn. The Heart-Shaped Box also drops a cosmetic rose headpiece, a cosmetic gas mask, an oozling pet, and the Heartbreaker Toy. These can drop on repeated cross-account runs but have more merciful drop-rates that will hopefully negate the need to farm ad nauseum.
