How to Execute in Modern Warfare: Finishing Move

by Ginny Woo

There has been a whole load of new additions to the last Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game, and we’re not just talking in the gun department. There are new chances to get gorier kills, and fancier cinematic opportunities for those who like a close-up on their murder. If you’re wanting to know how to execute in Modern Warfare for prime bloodletting, check out our tips and tricks.

How to Execute in Modern Warfare

First of all, execution in Modern Warfare is something that you can only do in multiplayer. It’s also specifically a melee move, so you’re going to have limited ways to actually net it if you’re someone who thinks that sniping is their MO.

To pull off an execute in Modern Warfare isn’t all that mechanically difficult so long as you’re in position. You’re going to have to be staring right at an opponent’s back. This means stealthily approaching them, which can be difficult with how loud footsteps are or the wider availability of the Ghost advantage, depending on what you want to gripe about. However, the point remains: once you’re facing someone’s back, holding down the melee button will make you perform an execution. Yeah, it’s about to get real knife-centric up in here. As long as your enemy isn’t mid-swivel, you’ll be able to pull it off and it’s an instant kill after the animation plays.

Getting executions isn’t just a quick and fun way of putting your enemies in the ground. They’re also crucial to certain multiplayer achievements, especially if you’re lining up for some of the rarer weapons that are only obtainable through said achievements. You’re going to want to get good at being stealthy now that you know how to execute in Modern Warfare, because we can guarantee that this is common knowledge and you’re going to have it weaponized against you if you aren’t careful. Now, good luck with all the hunting out there! If you need a hand with anything else in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, check out these tips that we’ve put together:
