How To Customize Your Dice In Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

Thankfully, you don't need to pay money for these dice.

As you continue through the world of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’re going to spend a lot of time rolling dice. After some time, however, you may grow tired of the familiar scuffed metal die that fills your screen, wishing that you could change the color or even the pattern. Thankfully, Larian Studios thought one step ahead, giving players the chance to change the die that they cast when rolling for the initiative in this epic adventure, so let’s find out how to make this change happen.

How To Change Dice Color In Baldur’s Gate 3

No matter, if you’re playing with a keyboard or mouse, or playing with a controller, changing your dice in Baldur’s Gate 3, is rather simple. When you are on a screen that calls for an initiative roll, you’ll see a few different options available, but if you peek toward the bottom right of the screen when playing with a controller or the bottom left of the screen with keyboard and mouse, an option you may have overlooked is present.

Just click on the option to Customize Dice, and you’ll be brought into a new menu that will allow you to select what kind you would like to use. While I am fairly early in the game yet, I have two different available options to me; the standard Scuffed Metal, alongside a rather delightful blue set.

Once you have selected your dice of choice, you’ll just need to press the corresponding action button to go back into the initiative roll and continue with your quest. If you purchased the Deluxe Edition of the game, you’ll also have an extra dice option available. If you’re feeling up to the task and want to mod the game, you can add custom dice skins for your viewing pleasure.

While the Dark Alliance games may have been my muse back in the day, I’m finding the change in battle types and perspectives to be rather refreshing, so let us help you on your journey, too.
