How to Catch Treecko in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

It might camouflage in the grass

Are you nostalgic for the Hoenn region? So are we. Thankfully, its starters have made a comeback in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk DLC. If your heart lies with the Grass-type, here’s how to catch Treecko in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How to Find and Catch Treecko in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet: The Indigo Disk

Treecko can be found in the Canyon biome, but it will only spawn after you’ve upgraded it. To upgrade it, you must donate 3000 BP to the Terarium Club using the computer at the League Club room. You can farm BP by completing as many BBQ quests as possible. Once you’ve done that, you can go ahead and explore the Canyon, specifically around the Canyon Plaza area.

Treecko it’s not too common (but it isn’t rare either), so you may have to wander a bit before you can spot one. The good news is that you can also find Tepig, Squirtle, Turtwig, and Litten in the Canyon biome, so you might get lucky.

Treecko is a pure Grass-type, so if you don’t want to make them faint too quickly, avoid attacking them with Flying, Fire, Bug, Poison, or Ice-type moves. Paralyzing it might be a great option because it is resistant to Electric-type moves also.

How to Evolve Treecko into Grovyle and Sceptile

Like all other starter Pokémon, Treecko evolves by leveling up. It will turn into Grovyle at level 16, and then into Sceptile at level 36. It will remain pure Grass type, no additional type was added when brought into Scarlet and Violet.

Remember that getting all of the precious starter Pokémon is exclusive to the Indigo Disk part of the DLC, and they only appear in the biomes after you’ve upgraded them. In total, you will need 12,000 BP to upgrade all four. Getting that much BP can be a bit challenging, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
